Liquid Web Hosting

Businesses require robust web hosting services to maintain their online presence, and many of the biggest brands trust Liquid Web. The company has a variety of cloud, exclusive, reseller, virtual private server (VPS), and WordPress software products with ample versatility and muscle to drive Eddie Bauer, Home Depot, National Geographic, Porsche, and Symantec. But be prepared to pay premium rates for this managed, enterprise-class service and forget about the cheaper shared cloud hosting tier: Liquid Web does not offer it. Smaller companies may prefer the overall favorite web hosts of PCMag, DreamHost, HostGator, and Hostwinds, offering more affordable priced packages, including shared hosting plans.

Liquid Web excels in controlled hosting; that’s why the Editors’ Choice award for the service use. A company does not house its servers on-site but managed to host. Then the servers are located in the datacenter of a web host. May sound like a summary of what each Web hosting service does, but Liquid Web goes far beyond just remotely serving up data. The organization will perform all the administrative duties and support roles on the platform, irrespective of complexity and size, as you would probably suspect—this type of service design with large corporations in mind. Liquid Web’s managed hosting is pretty expensive too, but big specs come with the big-ticket.

No Internet Shared Hosting

Liquid Web does not provide shared web hosting as described above but is typically used by individuals and the smallest of businesses. If you want to dabble in the area of hosting, you have to look elsewhere. HostGator($2.08 per month + HostGator Free Domain Registration), The PCMag Editors’ Choice for Shared Web Hosting Services is an excellent starting point. HostGator offers shared hosting packages based on Linux or Windows, which give small and medium-sized business room for growth (starting at $3.95 a month). HostGator is the web hosting service to explore for cheap.

VPS Web Hosting

If you want an efficient server, but without the hefty dedicated-server price tag, check out the VPS servers on Liquid Internet. VPS hosting is a higher form of shared hosting, but you’re dealing with far more efficient (and secure) system resources.
The entry-level VPS plan (starting at $4.99 a month) includes 1 GB of RAM, 30 GB solid-state drive storage, 1 TB of monthly data transfers, unlimited domains, and unlimited email. On the other end of the spectrum, the high-end option of Liquid Web (starting at $296 a month) upsets the ante by including 96 GB of RAM, 750 GB of SSD storage, and the option of using either Linux or Windows-based servers. If you want to spec up a more powerful server, you may also contact Liquid Web.

RAM and storage totals for Liquid Web are the best I have seen for their price point. But this is a significant caveat, given the prices of Liquid Network. Hostwinds ($3.29/Month at HostWinds) is our primary audience’s Editors’ Choice for VPS service for SMBs, but if you’re shopping for hosting at an enterprise level, Liquid Web is worth checking out. In reality, Hostwinds offers onboard unlimited monthly data transfer.

Like many other VPS providers I’ve checked, Liquid Web charges the number of days you ‘re using it each month, which is handy if you’ve decided to cancel.

Dedicated Web Hosting

However, if you are looking to build your website on the best basis possible, you may want to check out the dedicated server offerings on Liquid Web. With dedicated hosting, your website taps the full system resources of a server, rather than sharing them with other websites.

Dedicated servers from Liquid Web come in a variety of configurations, ranging from a single-processor server, two 480 GB solid-state drives (with 1 TB backup drive), 5 TB of monthly data transfers, and 16 GB of RAM (starting at $199 per month) to a high-end, dual-processor server with two 480 GB solid-state drives (and a 4 TB SATA backup drive), 8 TB of monthly data transfers, and 64 GB of RAM Clearly, dedicated servers on Liquid Web are target at companies who want sharp results on the website and have the money to spend on it.

The well-rounded, managed-level dedicated server packages from Liquid Web outclass the fantastic, SMB-friendly plans from AccuWebs. That being said, the disparity in price and spec between the two is so significant that AccuWeb (3.36 per month at AccuWeb Hosting) remains the Editors’ Choice for dedicated web hosting for personal use and SMBs. AccuWeb provides a range of servers based on Linux or Windows, up to 512 GB of RAM, 2 TB of storage, and unrestricted monthly data transfers. It is a situation between apples and oranges, and Liquid Web is really in its class.

WordPress Web Hosting

Liquid Web now provides three-thirds of controlled WordPress web hosting, beginning at $119 a month for 5TB of daily data transfers, ten domains, and a 100GB solid-state drive. Liquid Site has one-click downloads, automated updates, and links to hundreds of applications and WordPress plug-ins, as with other managed WordPress hosts, with the help of its Fantastico library!

The hosting system operated by Liquid Web explicitly designed to install WordPress and the related plug-ins. You don’t even have to update the CMS at all since it comes pre-installed. Once you have logged in to WordPress, you can build blogs, forums, and galleries for any other WordPress site hosted by yourself. It was easy to make a basic test page that did the job.

The back end of the WordPress installation includes multiple themes that can be added to the site to give it an attractive look or extra features. Of course, you can use a WordPress theme that has purchased elsewhere.

The PCMag Editors’ Preference for WordPress hosting is A2 (3.92 per month at A2 Hosting). A2 boasts a pre-built platform that provides many WordPress-friendly features, including the security against live malware and customized plug-ins designed to improve your experience. Most specifically, A2 offers maximum unrestricted capacity and monthly data transfers.

Cloud Web Hosting

Liquid Web also provides cloud hosting in addition to shared, VPS, dedicated, and WordPress hosting services. With cloud computing, multiple servers share the resources which your site requires to run.

Cloud storage for Liquid Web comes in several four forms, with either the Linux or Windows operating system. Prices start at $4.99 month (for 1 GB of RAM, 30 GB of storage, and 1 TB of monthly data), and scale up to almost $1,000 a month depending on your chosen configuration. There is a lot of versatility in expanding server capacity if you need to.

DreamHostwins PCMag Editors’ Option, however, primarily because it’s open to a broader cross-section of prospective cloud-hosting users than the higher-end, managed solutions of Liquid Web are in their group.DreamHost has excellent packages beginning at $4.50 per month (for 512 MB RAM, 100 GB storage, and unlimited monthly data transfers) and caps out at $48 per month (for four CPU cores, 8 GB RAM, 100 GB storage, and unlimited monthly data transfers).

Reseller Web Hosting

If you’re trying to get yourself into the web hosting market but don’t want to tackle server management, bandwidth, and other network problems, check out the excellent web hosting packages for Liquid Web resellers. Plans for Liquid Network, starting at $59 a month, come with an exclusive Full Solution WebHost Manager (or WHMCS) plug-in and instant provisioning.
The dedicated and VPS reseller bundles are Linux variety and Windows variety. They have the same RAM, monthly data transfers, and storage quantities as those offered directly by Liquid Web. There are no plans to host mutual resellers again. Liquid Web also helps you add your branding to your leased servers, and it also offers 24/7 tech support.

Liquid Web provides well-rounded reseller plans, but in a broader range of server categories, Hostwinds goes the extra mile with stacked specs. Hostwinds is also the Editors’ Option for hosting resellers.

Defense Features

Are you looking for Security? Liquid Net protects you. The firm provides firewalls, Secure Socket Layer ( SSL), Virtual Private Networks (VPN), malware detection and removal, and more.

Some apps come bundled with different bundles, whereas others that you would have to buy as add-ons. Liquid Web also has free nightly backups that will cover you should your site experience severe damage.

Excellent Uptime

Website uptime is a significant feature of a hosting operation. When your site is down, consumers or clients may not be able to reach you or access your goods or services. You don’t want it. Thankfully Liquid Web is extremely secure.

I use a Web monitoring tool to track the uptime of my test sites for two weeks. The tool pings down my websites every 15 minutes and sends me an email if it can not reach any of my websites for at least one minute. The data showed that during those 14 days, Liquid Web did not go down once.

Expensive, but Powerful

Without a doubt, Liquid Web is one of PCMag’s most strong web hosts tested, and it is a good option for web hosting operated by Editors. It has several bundles that have completely killer specs — specs that will cost you a pretty penny. Liquid Web does not have shared hosting packages, but the excellent commitment of the business and VPS hosting are sufficient to position it among the web hosting élite.
